Description: There is plenty to unpack regarding the 1^st Qtr. Coding Clinic.  First, there is an announcement concerning the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency and the upcoming use of the COVID screening code.  There is mention of the code updates for April 1^st, 2023, with over 40 new codes many of which relate to social determinants of health.  As always, there are questions to the editor which cover a wide array of coding topics.  Some of the topics in this issue are:

Speaker:  Dianna Foley, RHIA, CHPS, CCS, CDIP is OHIMA's Education Coordinator. Dianna has been an HIM professional for 20 years. She progressed through the ranks of coder, department supervisor, and department director, to her current role as a coding consultant. She recently served as the program director for Medical Coding and HIT at Eastern Gateway Community College. Dianna earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati subsequently achieving her RHIA, CHPS, and CCS certifications. She is an AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer and has been part of OHIMA's Coding Roundtable Committee, facilitating roundtables held at the OHIMA annual meeting. She has been a presenter at regional HIM meetings and the OHIMA Annual Meeting.
