Speaker:  Barbara Carr, RHIA, CHPS, serves as a strategic advisor for Verisma and joined the team in 2021. Barbara has extensive experience managing HIM departments for leading health systems nationwide. She most recently served as Assistant Vice President at Einstein Healthcare Network where she directed all facets of HIM services and Clinical Documentation Improvement across all facilities. Barbara also served as Corporate Director of Health Information Management at Christiana Care in Newark, DE. Barbara also served as President of the Delaware HIM Association and delegate to AHIMA.  She is a graduate of Miami Dade College and received a degree in Health Information Management.

 

Speaker: Elizabeth McElhiney, MHA, CHPS, CPHIMS, is the Director of Compliance and Government Affairs at Verisma Systems. She has worked in the Release of Information industry for over 14 years; covering all areas of the industry from customer service to compliance. Currently, she is the Government Affairs Chairperson at the Association of Health Information Outsourcing Solutions (AHIOS). Ms. McElhiney is also a first-year delegate for the Illinois Health Information Management Association.
