The Summer Coding Module is designed to provide students an opportunity to:

• Gain understanding of official coding guidelines
• Practice assigning codes for patient records
• Review and identify opportunities for compliance improvement
• Attend feedback session to discuss code selection and rationale, along with compliance project

Completion of the entire project is estimated at ten (10) hours of professional practicum time. All information in the OHIMA LMS and video links will be available for one month after the conclusion of this practicum experience.

Deliverables:

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes as applicable for patient records
• Identify relevant Official Coding Guideline(s) for codes assigned (if applicable)
• Review the Coding Compliance Information provided and perform the risk assessment review
• Complete the quiz prior to second meeting
• Participate in virtual meetings (i.e. ask/answer questions, express thoughts & ideas)

Overall total of 10 VIP hours

**Students must access meeting link for virtual meetings from inside the LMS for it to successfully track your attendance.
