Speaker: Darin Challacombe, Ph.D., SHRM-CP, is Director of Talent Development at Verisma. Darin has worked in the health information management (HIM) and release of information (ROI) fields for six years and has been in education for over 20 years. His vast experience includes work in nonprofit, government, and private business spaces. Darin currently serves as secretary of the Association of Health Information Outsourcing Solutions (AHIOS). He also worked on the team to create the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) ROI Microcredential. Darin serves as the Inclusion and Diversity chair for the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Georgia. Darin earned his Ph.D. in psychology from Northcentral University, and his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in psychology from Fort Hays State University.
Speaker: Elizabeth McElhiney, MHA, CHPS, CPHIMS, CRIS, is Director of Compliance and Government Affairs at Verisma. Elizabeth is responsible for the administration of Verisma’s privacy and compliance programs, collaborating with clients to implement evidence-based best practices and overseeing Verisma’s thought leadership initiatives. Elizabeth has worked in health information management (HIM) and release of information (ROI) for over 15 years, covering all industry areas from customer service to compliance. She serves as a delegate to the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) House of Delegates. Elizabeth is also the current regulatory chair at the Association of Health Information Outsourcing Services (AHIOS). She earned a masters of health administration (MHA) with a specialization in health informatics from Capella University, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Illinois Wesleyan University.
