Data analytics in healthcare involves the examination of data to draw meaningful conclusions. By analyzing patient information, costs, and care outcomes, data analytics can support more informed decision-making and ultimately lead to improved healthcare results.

In this project, students will have the opportunity to utilize a data set to identify relevant data, apply appropriate statistical analysis, accurately calculate results, interpret findings, summarize conclusions, and employ data visualization software to display the data.

The Data Analysis Module is designed to provide students an opportunity to 

• Identify data types and select appropriate statistical application for accurate analysis
• Accurately interpret, calculate, summarize, and visualize healthcare data using statistical software and tools
• Identify the most effective type of visualization based on the data set and stakeholders
• Use data analytic tools to create visual display of healthcare data
• Present a summary of the data that illustrates the results of the analysis

Completion of the entire project is estimated at ten (10) hours of professional practicum time. All information in the OHIMA LMS and video links will be available for one month after the conclusion of this practicum experience.
