This workshop is designed to help you enhance your emotional intelligence by developing better self-awareness, self-management, and social awareness to maintain meaningful and positive relationships with others and cultivate a healthier and more productive workplace.

Speaker: Merida Johns, PhD, RHIA is the owner and founding director of The Monarch Center for Women’s Leadership Development, a firm that offers services for coaching and leader development, specializing in women's leadership development. The Monarch Center helps women help themselves to fulfill their leadership and economic potential and break the glass ceiling. Dr. Johns has a distinguished leadership record in the non-profit, for-profit, and academic worlds. In 2012 she received the American Health Information Management’s Distinguished Member Award, the Association's highest honor recognizing outstanding leadership. Dr. Johns is a sought-after motivational speaker, published author and has served on and chaired the board of directors of numerous non-profit organizations.
Part 1
Duration: 1 hour
Examines the science of emotional intelligence, its components, and its impact on personal and workplace wellbeing.
Week Activity: Assessment of baseline emotional intelligence through the Global Leadership Foundation Emotional Intelligence Assessment.
Part 2
Duration: 1 hour
Assessment of EI baseline scores through the use of the EI Reflection Tool to identify areas that are a medium or high priority for improvement. Emotional Triggers Exercise. Development of personal EI Action Plan.
Week Activity: Self-Reflection and Accountability Journal
Part 3
Duration: 1 hour
Cultivating an Emotionally Intelligent Workplace. Discussion of actions and techniques that can be used to promote emotional intelligence as a core workplace value.
