ICD-10 Diagnosis Coding in Behavioral Health

Description: This webinar will discuss the major changes to behavioral health and chemical dependency diagnostic coding within ICD-10, as well as going over the differences between DSM-5 and ICD-10, and the resulting coding conundrums of having two different classification systems, one for physicians and the other for coders. This webinar is suited for both the occasional psychiatric coder as well as coding professionals who code only psychiatric records.

Speaker:  Marjorie Cook, RHIT, CCS has worked in the HIM field since 1997 and in the healthcare field since 1987. She is a Project Manager for Med Assets-Precyse. She is currently responsible for the management of their psychiatric auditing department, overseeing multiple psychiatric auditors, and providing client services that include quarterly inpatient and outpatient coding audits for over 120 freestanding psychiatric hospitals. She is responsible for audit preparation, client communication, quality assurance, as well as writing and presenting the educational material gleaned from the audit results.
