CDI Query Workshop

Description: While understanding clinical and coding concepts are important factors in an effective CDI program, no single job function is as impactful as the query writing process. Anyone can read a record but not everyone can take the clinical indicators and the context of the patient’s illness and translate that into missed documentation opportunities. In this workshop, the speaker will review compliant query practice utilizing the AHIMA/ACDIS Guidelines for Achieving a Compliant Query Practice and work with the learners to apply the standards within the brief in clinical case studies. During our breakout sessions, groups will work to write compliant queries based on the clinical scenarios and critique written queries for opportunities to achieve best practice.
