Advancing Change Initiatives Successfully within HIM: Part II

Description: This presentation will address issues associated with the people skills required in advancing change initiatives successfully throughout the HIM profession. Motivating individuals to engage in change initiatives as well as developing accountability models will be discussed in depth. The Change Path Model will be reviewed and the last two components of the model - Acceleration and Institutionalization will be discussed in an HIM framework. Participants will be provided handout tools that can assist them when deploying change within an organization. Thought breaks will allow participants to reflect on the topics covered and to further assess how to apply the skills in an HIM setting.

Speaker: Pamela Greenstone-Childers, EdD, RHIA, has been an educator in the BS HIM Program at the University of Cincinnati for 12 years.  She has been the Program Director since 2014 and Department Head for Clinical and Health Information Sciences Department since 2018.  Pam also has many years of manager/director experiences within Health Information Management.  Pam and her colleague, Jan Kelly, published an AHIMA textbook titled "Management for the Health Information Professional".
