Description: Participants will learn the basics of quality improvement in healthcare and how to utilize data to improve the quality of internal processes and healthcare outcomes. This session will include a review of various quality improvement models that are used to systematically advance patient care and effectively implement change. The session will additionally feature a discussion on the successes and challenges of real quality improvement initiatives that will help you develop a successful quality improvement program. Learning objectives: 1. How to utilize different QI methodologies to achieve optimal outcomes. 2. How to create a Key Driver Diagram and develop interventions. 3. Describe how Continuous Quality Improvement processes advance the quality of care.

Speaker: Brieann Wolfe, MBA, RHIA, is the Quality Improvement Manager at Nationwide Children’s Hospital leveraging 10+ years of experience leading quality improvement initiatives and best practices in clinical settings. Before her employment at Nationwide Children’s, she was a Performance Improvement Coordinator at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

As a visionary leader, Brieann has had continued success in designing and implementing Continuous Quality Improvement programs through innovation, operational excellence, and strategic collaborations. She has led National Performance Improvement projects and the design of outcome measures for healthcare interventions implemented nationally. Brieann has guided innovative initiatives in quality and equity for the Ryan White HRSA programs, as well as, numerous projects for the State of Ohio. She is a recognized leader in quality, having won awards nationally for leadership in quality and successes in measurable improvement in HIV Care. Brieann serves as a committee member on Local, State, Regional, Federal, and National committees aimed at improving health outcomes for patients and families. 

Brieann is passionate about serving others and creating best outcomes for the healthcare community. She received her MBA from Thomas More College and a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Kentucky University. Further, she is a Register Health Information Administrator (RHIA). Brieann resides in Westerville, Ohio with her husband and 3 children where they enjoy golf, tennis, skiing and other outdoor activities.
