The Intersection of HIPAA Privacy and Information Blocking

Description: HIPAA Privacy and the Cures Act Information Blocking rules are intersecting. The Health and Human Services (HHS) wants healthcare transparency for patients and patients to be in charge of their health records. To achieve this, healthcare providers must not block information that should be available while protecting patient privacy by following the privacy rules. In addition, new privacy rules are anticipated to be published that will need to be considered. This session will be an educational and interactive discussion that will include the latest information about these rules, industry trends and how organizations are operationalizing these changes.
