CPT Musculoskeletal Hand and Foot Procedures - Coding Workshop

Description: Musculoskeletal coding for hand/wrist/foot/ankle procedures is a challenging proposition. With these body parts representing over 50% of the bones in the body, more than 50 joints, and over 200 muscles, tendons, and ligaments, it is no wonder that coding professionals are often perplexed when faced with coding these procedures. So, help is on the way!

*CPT workshop attendees will need a current CPT Manual or a laptop with access to an encoder that has CPT coding capability.

Coding principles specific to the musculoskeletal system will be presented along with a brief overview of specialists who perform procedures on this body system. Specifics of coding for hand/wrist and foot/ankle procedures will be explored and discussed.
• Review bundling edits and global surgical package concept
• Specialists - Hand Surgeons, Orthopedists, Podiatrists
• In-depth discussion of challenging reconstructive procedures
• Analyze operative report documentation to correctly assign CPT codes to wrist, hand, ankle and foot procedures

In addition to this workshop, OHIMA has pre-recorded physician webinars (Common Hand and Wrist Pathology & Common Foot and Ankle Pathology) with providers discussing not only hand/foot anatomy, but frequently performed procedures for these sites. These discussions will help prepare coding professionals for this workshop. You can purchase these individually or as a "bundle". See below for "bundle" pricing.
