Respiratory Conditions and Bronchoscopy Coding

Speaker:  Manoj V. Ramachandran MD is currently working as an Academic Hospitalist and Physician Advisor for Clinical Documentation Improvement at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I worked as a Physician Advisor for CDI Program since 2012. I am a frequent speaker to the Medical Staff, CDI specialists, and Coders. I have a passion to improve meaningful Clinical Documentation and reduce copy-paste and note bloat which is easily generated through EMR. I graduated from Medical School in South India (Government Medical College Thiruvananthapuram) and moved to the US in 2006. I completed my Internal Medicine training at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester, MA in 2009. I enjoy peer-reviewing journal articles and volunteer my time as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Medical Case Reports. I established a strategic alliance between the Clinician Nutrition team, CDI specialists, and Coding at Ohio State and currently serve as the lead physician for this collaborative project, which is aimed at improving the recognition and management of malnutrition among Hospitalized Patients.

Speaker:  Dianna Foley, RHIA, CHPS, CCS, CDIP, is an HIM professional with over 20 years of experience.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and holds RHIA, CHPS, CDIP, and CCS certifications from AHIMA, along with being an AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer.  Dianna has held many positions in HIM and is now an independent coding consultant.  She previously served as the program director for Medical Coding and HIT at Eastern Gateway Community College. Dianna is an AHIMA-published author and has volunteered with AHIMA on projects including certification item writing, certification exam development, coding rapid design, and most recently has served on AHIMA’s nominating committee.  She is a presenter on coding topics at the national, state, and regional levels and serves as OHIMA’s Education Coordinator. Dianna mentors new AHIMA members and also provides monthly educational lectures to coders and clinical documentation specialists.
